David Holland is a 4th-degree black belt with over 20 years of Aikido training and 10 years experience instructing Aikido. He began his Aikido training in 1989 with the Virginia Ki Society under the supervision of Sensei Hal Singer and George Simcox. In 1992, David moved to Japan where he continued intensive training under the instruction of Horikoshi-Shihan.
David tested and received all yudansha (black belt) ranks under Horikoshi Dojo at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo (World Headquarters) in Tokyo Japan.
David Returned the U.S. in 1998 where he took a position as a senior instructor at a local dojo until founding Aikido Holland Dojo in 2008. He continues to maintain a relationship with Horikoshi dojo, including annual visits to Japan for training, and assisting Horikoshi-Shihan at international seminars in countries including Canada, Japan, and Russia. In addition, Aikido Holland Dojo hosts Horikoshi-Shihan for seminars in the U.S.
